Pajama Day

Today was pajama day at the school I work at. Our schools in Plymouth received a grant from the government that allowed all the children to receive 3 free books. Today was the first day that they handed out the books. Our principal made it a fun day for all. Everyone was to come dressed in their pajamas, even the staff! Then at the end of the day everyone was to spend the last half hour of school reading their new book. A large box of books were delivered to the classroom and then the children were all aloud to pick a book of their choice. They were also served hot chocolate and cookies while they read their books. They also got bookmarks to make. We didn't have time to make them in class today. I don't know if I will send them home with the kids or if we will make them in class tomorrow. Here are some pictures of the day. The whole staff together after school for a group picture

Amber reading with one of the students. Amber is a high school senior who comes to the classroom every day at 2:15 and stays until the end of the class day. It is for a class that she is taking at the high school. Her last day will be Feb. 24th and I will really miss her when she stops coming. The kids will too!!!!

Aren't they just all adorable? Especially in their PJ's! I know you don't know who they are but these are just a bunch of sweet little kids that I am really getting attached to! I will really miss them when I have to leave! There are three students missing from the pictures. Two were sick and the third one was reading under a table and I missed getting a picture of him. Maybe I will have to stage them reading some other time!
