Well, Mom went home today! Allen and I arrived at the hospital this morning around 9:30. Mom seemed so much better. Was more alert, color was better, and her mouth was not as droopy. She is still having trouble with her words...called me-"Sharon" and Allen-"Dave", but that's ok! It was kind of funny, and she was laughing about it too!
We really didn't learn a whole lot more from the MRI results. Just that she had a stroke (knew that already) and that it was on the left side of her brain (kinda figured that out too since it is the right side of her face that is droopy). They also did an EEG on her this morning. That was quite interesting to watch. She had 26 probes stuck all over the top of her head and forehead with different colored wires coming out of them! I did take a picture of her but promised I wouldn't blog it! Won't know those results for a couple of days, and not really sure why the test was needed. More ways of telling us she had a stoke? Anyway, all the other tests came back fine, so the nurse took her for a walk after lunch and told her that if she did well on it then she would be able to go home.
By 5:00 tonight she was back home. While dad went out to fill her prescriptions, Allen and I fixed some supper for them and then came on home. The Dr. has her taking Plavix and aspirin. We still don't know what caused it, but just know that it was some sort of a clot. She seemed very tired tonight when we left them and her mouth was drooping again. I'm sure a good night's sleep in her own bed tonight without being woke up every two hours will do her some good!
Thanks everyone for the thoughts and prayers...they really do help!!
