Sarah was worried this morning that it was Friday the 13th. I told her not to worry, because today was going to be a good day. They had missed their school Christmas party on the last day of school because it was canceled due to snow. So they were having a valentine's party today to make up for the lost Christmas party. Plus today was an early release day, they were getting out at 12:20. They were also to dress up today for school and practice showing good manners. She had also purchased several Valentine grams for her friends and they were going to be delivered today at school. So all in all, it should have been a good day. And it was until she decided to make more cookies. Chocolate chip cookies again this time. Well, she ended up burning her wrist on the cookie sheet as she was taking a batch out of the oven. Then as she was trying to finish up the rest of the cookies her brothers kept coming in and eating the cookies just about as fast as she was baking them. This upset her more because she said, and I quote, "All they care about is my cookies and not about my arm!" Poor thing! She definitely needs a big box of chocolates.
Speaking of injuries, it's been a while since the youngest son has been injured. Friday the 13th must not be good for him either. While at school today he fell and skinned up his hand and knee. He was running across the playground as fast as he could go, and he says he goes pretty fast!, when he was knocked down by another kid and went sliding across the blacktop on his hand. Of course they were all for me blogging the pictures of their injuries, they must not be getting enough sympathy from home and are hoping to get more from someone outside their immediate family!

Nathan's injury

Sarah's burn

I had a good Friday the 13th!! My Valentine's from the kids at school!

The other night we had chicken tacos for supper. Afterwards I fried up some flour shells, sprinkled them with lots of cinnamon and sugar and then the kids filled them with ice cream drizzled with honey. Tasted pretty close to fried ice cream. This is a picture of Greg's dish he made.

I can sure empathize with both kids' injuries! Ouch.
And I'm going to remember the fake fried ice cream... that's worth trying!
Happy Valentine's Day!
